Providing tyre solutions to Lilongwe residents

Thirty-five-year-old Saeed Girach quit a well-paying job to set up his own company after noting that he could equally do well in society through entrepreneurship.

Girach, who has worked for companies such as O Jussab and Viscocity as a manager, says some people  who thought that he was taking a huge risk by setting up his tyre selling company, Tyre Solutions,  are now surprised at how popular his company is becoming by the day.

“I made a bold and tough decision after I managed to save some resources to set up my own company. Initially, I was apprehensive but after some advice from my relations, I decided to take the risk. Mind you, I was a manager in the companies that I once worked for and life was alright for me. However, sometimes it is good to stand up on your own because that is when you can realise your full potential,” says Girach.

He says after working for12 years in institutions dealing with tyres and car accessories, the choice was not difficult for him on the type of business to venture in.

Girach, who left his last job in June 2014, opened Tyre Solutions in July the same year.

In his shop, he stocks tyre brands such as Pirelli, Good Year, Bridgestone, Yana and Yokohama.

Girach says even when a customer requires a brand of tyre not in stock; he imports them.

“Our motto is giving very good service to our customers and this has helped us get more and more people. One other thing that has made us stand out is that we are strategically situated in the Sana shopping Mall and this place is easily accessed from all points of Lilongwe City because there is no congestion,” says Girach.

Currently, Tyre Solutions employs three people but plans are underway to open new branches in other parts of the country, according to Girach.

He says he wants to start to import tyre rims and set up a centre where customers will have their tyres fitted at a competitive fee.

“Our prices are very good and we give guarantees, especially on batteries, and this has also excited most customers. We also give discount just to excite our customers,” says Girach.
